Today’s Quote

Be of good cheer, Christian, the time is near when God and you shall be as near as you can desire. You shall dwell in His family! You shall then have joy without sorrow and rest without weariness!

— Richard Baxter

Spurgeon’s Daily Help

The city of refuge in ancient Israel had large suburbs around it. Two thousand cubits were set aside for grazing land for the priests' cattle, and another thousand cubits inside that for fields and vineyards. Now, as soon as the man seeking refuge reached the outskirts of the city, he was safe; he didn’t

need to get inside the walls—the suburbs themselves provided protection. Learn from this that if you just touch the hem of Christ's garment, you will be healed; if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, even if it’s barely believing, it’s still truly believing, and you are safe.

The Spurgeon Birthday Book

March 4

I have never worshiped more deeply, even in the presence of majestic mountains or during a thunderstorm, than I have at the foot of the cross. A sense of God’s goodness creates better worship than a sense of the sublime. In our best moments, even the

grandest sights in nature are too small to fully reflect the Lord’s glory; they actually diminish our understanding of His greatness. Jesus said, "Whoever has seen me has seen the Father." Nowhere else is God fully revealed.
