Today’s Quote

Christ is never sincerely loved, until sin is sincerely loathed!

Spurgeon’s Daily Help

Look at the vast, unsupported arch of Heaven; see how it stretches across the sky, and yet it doesn’t collapse, even though it’s not held up by anything. "He hangs the earth on nothing." What invisible chain holds the stars in place and keeps them from falling? A Christian should be like a miniature

version of God’s universe; our faith should be an unsupported confidence, resting on the past and on eternity to come as the solid foundation of its arch. Our faith should be like the world—it should hang on nothing but God’s promises, needing nothing to hold it up but the right hand of our Father.

The Spurgeon Birthday Book

March 5

Oh, for the grace to overcome self-centeredness. I want to be like a grain of dust blown by the summer breeze, with no power to change my direction, carried along by the irresistible breath of the Spirit; willingly made unwilling to desire anything but

my Lord’s will. I want to be like a tiny straw floating on the Gulf Stream, carried wherever the warm love of God takes me, delighting in being nothing, and seeing the Lord alone exalted.

Spurgeon’s Quote

The most glorious work that God ever performed, was when God incarnate died that sinners might live.
