After Jesus was born in Bethlehem in Judea, during the time of King Herod, Magi from the east arrived in Jerusalem, — Matt 2:1 BSB

It’s not always those closest to Christ who first see His glory.

He was born among the Jews, yet the first people to worship Him, aside from the shepherds, were wise men from far away. We have Christ in our midst, but do we truly see Him? Do we honor Him? We don’t fully understand the star that guided the wise men, but whatever it was, it led them to the King they sought.

If we follow the light we have, we too will find the blessings we need. The wise men in Jerusalem knew where the Messiah was to be born, yet none of them went to Bethlehem to worship Him. It’s not enough to know where Christ is; we must seek Him for ourselves. No power can snatch away even the weakest life that God is watching over. Herod thought he could destroy the newborn King, but before he could strike, the Holy Child was already on His way to Egypt.
