Spurgeon's Prayer: The Power of the Blood
In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of His grace
— Ephesians 1:7 (BSB)
The blood of Christ is the key to heaven’s treasures.
— Charles Spurgeon
Father, we thank You for the precious blood of Jesus, which cleanses us from all sin. Through His sacrifice, we have redemption and the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of Your grace. We stand before You today, knowing that we are not under condemnation, for "there is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus." This is our assurance, and we rejoice in the peace that comes from Your divine pardon.
As we enter Your holy presence, we come with confidence, knowing that we are washed in the blood of Christ. He has declared us clean, and we draw near to You with pure hearts and clean hands. O God, how precious it is to hear Jesus say to us, "You are completely clean."
Lord, we ask for a deeper experience of Your pardon and peace. May we know, not just in our minds but in our hearts, the joy of being forgiven and reconciled to You. Let Your peace, which passes all understanding, guard our hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. We long to live in the fullness of this peace, trusting fully in the power of Christ’s blood to cover all our sins.
Help us to live each day with the assurance that we are Yours, redeemed by the blood of Christ, and secure in Your love. May this assurance give us peace in our daily walk, knowing that nothing can separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus. Lord, we ask that You help us to live as those who have been cleansed, reflecting Your holiness and purity in all we do.
Father, thank You for the power of the blood of Jesus that redeems, cleanses, and sets us free. We praise You for the gift of salvation and the peace that comes from being reconciled to You. Keep us always mindful of this great gift and help us to walk in the light of Your grace. Amen.
