Home Blessings

The curse of the LORD is on the house of the wicked, but He blesses the home of the righteous. — Prov 3:33 BSB

The person who fears the Lord comes under divine protection, even in their home and family. Their home is a place of love, a school of holy training, and a dwelling of heavenly light. Within it, there is a family altar where the Lord’s name is daily revered. Therefore, the Lord blesses their home. It may be a humble cottage or a grand mansion, but the Lord’s blessing comes because of the character of the people who live there, not because of the size of the house.

A home is most blessed when the heads of the household are God-fearing people, but even a son, daughter, or servant who is righteous in God’s sight can bring a blessing to the entire family. The Lord often preserves, prospers, and provides for a household for the sake of one or two members who are “just” in His eyes, having been made so by His grace. Beloved, let us welcome Jesus as our constant guest, just as the sisters of Bethany did, and then we will be truly blessed.

Let us ensure that we are just in all things—in our business dealings, in our judgments of others, in our treatment of neighbors, and in our personal character. A just God cannot bless unjust actions.
