Spurgeon’s Daily Help As an encouragement to offer intercessory prayer, remember that such prayers are the sweetest ones God ever hears because Christ’s prayers are of this nature. His intercession is the most acceptable of all prayers, and the more our prayers resemble Christ’s, the more pleasing they will be. So, while

petitions for ourselves are accepted, our prayers for others—full of love, faith, and brotherly kindness—are, through the merits of Jesus, the sweetest offering we can give to God, the very best part of our sacrifice. The Spurgeon Birthday Book July 8 Home is especially a woman’s domain. There she reigns as queen, and her throne should be established in love. In the warmth of family life and close friendships, a woman can do more for the glory of the Lord Jesus Christ than by preaching in a pulpit.
