Today’s Quote
Affliction is a bitter pill, which, being enrapt up in patience and quiet submission, may be easily swallowed. But discontent chews the pill, and so embitters the soul.
— John Flavel
Spurgeon’s Daily Help
The believer entrusts their soul into God's hands; it came from Him, it belongs to Him, He has sustained it in the past, and He is able to keep it safe. It is only right that He should receive it. Everything is secure in God's hands; whatever we entrust to the Lord will be safe, both now and on that
final day toward which we are all heading. It is a peaceful life and a glorious death to rest in Heaven’s care. At all times, we should commit everything to Jesus' faithful hands; then, even if life hangs by a thread and adversities multiply like the sands of the sea, our soul will dwell in peace and find delight in quiet resting places.

It’s a poor sign of a renewed heart when someone always has to be in the lead. Those who know the Lord are happy to sit at Christ’s feet—the lower the place, the better. They’re glad even to wash the saints’ feet and consider it an honor to keep the door.
If Christian people must argue about who’s first, always strive for the lowest place. If you aim to be last and least, you'll have very little competition; no one will fight you for the lowest seat.

Spurgeon’s Quote
Prayer and praise make up the best life of the Christian. He is the really healthy Christian, who has these two things rightly balanced.
