It's incredibly important for us, as believers, to keep Jesus constantly before us, to deepen our love for Him, and to grow in our knowledge of Him. But to have Jesus near, our hearts must be full of Him, overflowing with His love. That’s why the apostle prays "that Christ may dwell in your hearts."

Notice how close he wants Jesus to be—not just as a visitor who comes occasionally, but that He may dwell there, that Jesus may become the permanent resident and Lord of your heart.

Dear friend, whether you die shortly after being born again or live on earth for many years, it doesn't change your indebtedness to God’s grace. In one case, the great Gardener will show how He can quickly bring His flowers to perfection; in the other,

He will demonstrate how He can preserve them in blooming beauty, despite the harshness of life’s winter. In either case, your experience will reveal the same love and power.
