Spurgeon's Prayer: Kept by the Lord
Now to Him who is able to keep you from stumbling and to present you unblemished in His glorious presence, with great joy—
— Jude 1:24 (BSB)
Faithful is He that called you, who also will do it. You are in good hands.
— Charles Spurgeon
Father in heaven, we come before You, acknowledging that You have placed Your people in the hands of Jesus, our Savior. We trust that You will preserve us in the world, even though we are not of it. We ask that You keep us holy and separate from the world, just as our Lord was holy, harmless, and undefiled.
Lord, we desire to live lives that are distinct, marked by holiness and a deep commitment to follow Christ. Help us not to heed the voice of strangers, but to follow our Good Shepherd wherever He leads. Protect us from the snares of the enemy. We know that Satan lays traps for our feet, but we ask You to deliver us from evil. Let not the temptations of this world overtake us, and may we walk in purity, reflecting the character of Christ.
Father, we know that You delight in the prayers of Your people. We cry out to You for the preservation of Your Church. Let Your people be marked by their holiness and commitment to You, standing as lights in the midst of a dark world. Strengthen us to stand firm in the face of temptation and keep our garments white and clean before You.
We trust that You will keep us from falling, and that You will present us blameless before Your presence. As we begin this day, we ask for Your grace to live for You, to walk in holiness, and to reflect Christ in all we do. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.
