Spurgeon's Prayer: Joy of Adoption

Behold what manner of love the Father has given to us, that we should be called children of God. And that is what we are! The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know Him.
— 1 John 3:1 (BSB)

Nothing binds me to my Lord like a strong belief in His changeless love.
— Charles Spurgeon

Father, how great is the love You have lavished on us that we should be called children of God! We are in awe of the love You have shown us by adopting us into Your family. Once we were far from You, but now we are sons and daughters, heirs of the kingdom, and partakers of eternal life. This adoption fills our hearts with joy and gratitude, for it is not something we deserved, but a gift of Your grace.

We rejoice in the knowledge that we are secure in Your love. No longer are we slaves to fear, but we are free to call You "Abba, Father." Our hearts are filled with peace, knowing that we are held in the loving arms of our Heavenly Father. We would not trade this joy for anything in the world.

Lord, we look forward to the day when this adoption will be fully realized. In heaven, we will dwell with You forever, and our hearts will be satisfied for all eternity. We long for that day, but until then, we ask that You help us to live each day as Your children, reflecting Your love and grace to those around us.

May the joy of this adoption shape our lives and guide our actions. Let us live in the confidence that we are loved, redeemed, and secure in Your hands. We praise You for the glorious liberty we have as Your children, and we look forward to the eternal fulfillment of this promise. Amen.
