The Outward, Upward Look
Turn to Me and be saved, all the ends of the earth; for I am God, and there is no other. — Isa 45:22 BSB
This is a foundational promise for our spiritual life: salvation comes through a simple look to Him who is “a just God and a Savior.” The instruction is clear—Look unto me. How reasonable this is! We have looked elsewhere for help long enough. Now it is time to fix our eyes on the only One who invites our gaze and promises to save us.
Just one look! Will you not look at once? We are to bring nothing with us, no strength or wisdom, only to look outward and upward to the Lord who reigns, the One who has ascended from the cross to His throne. This act requires no preparation, no great effort. It doesn’t demand wit, wealth, or wisdom. Everything we need is in the Lord. If we look to Him for everything, we shall have everything and be saved.
Come, all who feel distant from God—turn your eyes to Him. You who dwell in the farthest reaches, even at the edge of death, may look to Him and find life, light, and salvation in the Lord Jesus Christ, who is God and able to save.
