Spurgeon's Prayer: The Assurance of Salvation
being confident of this, that He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.
— Philippians 1:6 (BSB)
I have a steadfast faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, and in His love for me, which cannot be shaken.
— Charles Spurgeon
Father, as we end this day, we come before You with hearts filled with assurance. We thank You for the salvation that You have secured for us in Christ Jesus. Your Word reminds us that You, who began a good work in us, will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus. We rest tonight in the confidence that our salvation is secure in Your hands.
Lord, we thank You for Your faithfulness. You are the One who saves, and You are the One who sustains. We trust in Your promise that You will complete the work You have begun in us. Even when we feel weak or falter, You are strong, and You hold us securely in Your grace.
As we reflect on this day, we are grateful for the assurance we have in Christ. We know that our salvation does not depend on our own efforts but on the finished work of Jesus. We rest in His righteousness and His love, knowing that nothing can separate us from Your love.
Tonight, we ask for peace and confidence as we rest in Your promises. Help us to trust fully in Your faithfulness, knowing that You are always at work in us. Let Your peace guard our hearts and minds as we sleep, and may we wake tomorrow with renewed strength and faith in Your grace. Amen.
