Spurgeon's Prayer: The Savior’s Fullness
But He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My power is perfected in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly in my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest on me.
— 2 Corinthians 12:9 (BSB)
The Christian’s life should put his minister’s sermon in print.
— Charles Spurgeon
Gracious Savior, as the day draws to a close, we turn to You, recognizing that in all things, Your grace is sufficient. We confess that we are often weak and weary, but we thank You that in our weakness, Your power is made perfect. Tonight, we rest in the knowledge that You are enough for us, that all we need is found in You.
Lord, we ask that You increase our awareness of Your sufficiency in every aspect of our lives. Help us to stop striving in our own strength and to rely fully on Your grace. In our moments of struggle, remind us that Your grace is what sustains us. When we are tempted to feel overwhelmed or inadequate, may we look to You, knowing that You are the fullness of life, wisdom, and strength.
As we reflect on this day, we seek to live out the fullness of Your life in our own. Help us to reflect Your character in everything we do, and may the life we live be a testament to Your grace. Let the words we speak, the thoughts we think, and the actions we take be shaped by the life of Christ within us.
As we prepare for sleep, we rest in the assurance that You are enough. Your grace is sufficient for all our needs, and Your power is made perfect in our weakness. Thank You, Lord, for being our strength and our sufficiency. We rest in You tonight, confident in Your love and grace. Amen.
