Spurgeon's Prayer: Strengthened by His Presence
And the LORD answered, “My Presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.”
— Exodus 33:14 (BSB)
Let the presence of God always be with you, and let His smile cheer your soul.
— Charles Spurgeon
Gracious Father, we come before You at the close of this day, thankful for Your presence with us. Your Word promises that Your presence will go with us and that You will give us rest. We thank You for the peace that comes from knowing You are near, and we ask for Your peace to fill our hearts tonight. Let us rest in the comfort of Your presence, free from worry and fear.
Lord, we trust You to guide us in the days ahead. As we lay down our burdens and close our eyes, we place tomorrow’s challenges into Your capable hands. Strengthen us for what lies ahead, and let us face each task with the assurance that You go before us. We have no strength apart from You, and so we lean on You, confident that You will provide all we need.
Help us to live in the comfort and assurance of Your unchanging presence. The world may shift and change, but You remain constant. You are our rock and our refuge, and we find peace in knowing that we are safe in Your hands. Let this truth be our anchor, holding us steady through the storms of life.
As we rest tonight, may we find peace in Your promises and strength in Your presence. Watch over us as we sleep, and may we wake tomorrow refreshed, ready to follow where You lead. Thank You for being our constant source of comfort and strength. Amen.
