Spurgeon's Prayer: Living Sacrifices for Christ

Therefore I urge you, brothers, on account of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God, which is your spiritual service of worship.
— Romans 12:1 (BSB)

If Christ has died for me, I cannot trifle with the sin which killed my best Friend.
— Charles Spurgeon

Lord Jesus, as we begin this day, we offer ourselves to You as living sacrifices. You have redeemed us with Your precious blood, and we belong to You. Help us to live each day in complete surrender to Your will, offering our bodies, minds, and spirits as a holy and pleasing sacrifice to God. This is our true and proper worship.

Father, we ask for the strength to resist sin and live in holiness. Just as You sacrificed Yourself for us, we desire to live lives that honor that sacrifice. May we never trifle with sin but see it for what it truly is—an offense against the One who gave His life for us. Help us to turn away from anything that would hinder our walk with You, and may we live in a way that reflects the holiness and love of Christ.

We pray that every action, every word, and every thought today would be an act of worship to You. Let us live with undivided devotion, fully committed to serving You in all that we do. Lord, bind us to Your altar with cords of love and grace, so that our lives may be a continuous offering of worship to You.

As we go through this day, help us to remember that we are not our own. We have been bought with a price, and we gladly give ourselves to You in response to Your great love. Let our lives be marked by holiness, devotion, and worship, as we seek to honor You in all things. Amen.
