Spurgeon's Prayer: The Joy of Salvation

Restore to me the joy of Your salvation, and sustain me with a willing spirit.
— Psalm 51:12 (BSB)

No joy can excel that which comes to a pardoned soul.
— Charles Spurgeon

O Lord, we come before You today with hearts full of gratitude for the salvation we have received through Christ. We remember the day You delivered us from the storms of our sin, and how You sealed our pardon with the blood of Your Son. It is a joy that no words can fully express, but we offer You our praise.

Father, we ask that You would restore to us the joy of our salvation. Let us never grow weary of rejoicing in the great sacrifice Christ made for us on the cross. We look again to Jesus, the Lamb of God, who took away our sin. His body was pierced for our transgressions, His blood was shed for our forgiveness, and through Him, we are made righteous before You. Help us to never take this gift for granted but to treasure it always in our hearts.

Lord, give us a willing spirit to serve You with joy and devotion. We are not our own; we have been bought with a price. Help us to live each day as those who belong to You, dedicating our lives to Your service. May we be filled with the joy that comes from knowing that we are redeemed, not with silver or gold, but with the precious blood of Christ.

As we go through this day, let our hearts overflow with gratitude and joy for the salvation You have given us. Strengthen us to serve You with gladness, and may our lives reflect the greatness of Your grace. Amen.
