Spurgeon's Prayer: The Marks of Christ

From now on let no one cause me trouble, for I bear on my body the marks of Jesus.
— Galatians 6:17 (BSB)

If you do not belong to Christ, you are not marked with His blood.
— Charles Spurgeon

Lord Jesus, we come before You this morning, asking that our lives may bear the marks of Your sacrifice and love. We want to be fully identified with You, marked as Your own. Just as the Apostle Paul bore the marks of Jesus in his body, we pray that our lives would reflect the cost of following You. Let us not shrink back from living boldly for Christ, even when it is difficult.

Father, we ask for the courage to stand firm in our faith, no matter what trials or challenges we may face. We know that following Christ means bearing the marks of sacrifice, self-denial, and love. Help us to walk in the footsteps of our Savior, trusting in His strength to carry us through.

We reaffirm today that we belong to You—body, soul, and spirit. We have been buried with Christ in baptism unto death, and now our entire being is Yours. May we live each day as a testimony to the power of the Gospel, marked by the love, sacrifice, and grace of Christ.

As we go through this day, help us to stand firm in the truth of the Gospel, boldly proclaiming that we are followers of Christ. Let our lives be marked by holiness, devotion, and the love of Jesus. We pray that others would see the marks of Christ in us and be drawn to Him. Thank You, Lord, for the privilege of being identified with You. Amen.
