Spurgeon's Prayer: The Reward of Christ’s Suffering
Ask Me, and I will make the nations Your inheritance, the ends of the earth Your possession.
— Psalm 2:8 (BSB)
The blood of Jesus is the life of the Gospel, and the Gospel is the life of the world.
— Charles Spurgeon
Father, tonight we come before You, longing to see the reward of Christ’s suffering. You have promised that the nations will be His inheritance, and we pray that You would bring many souls into His kingdom. Lord, give Your Son the reward of His suffering, and let His Gospel be proclaimed with power throughout the world.
Holy Spirit, we ask for a greater outpouring of Your presence, convicting hearts and drawing people to Christ. There are many who do not yet know the Savior, and we pray that You would open their eyes to see the beauty of the cross. Convince them of their need for a Savior, and lead them to the One who was crucified for their sins.
Lord, we desire to be part of Your mission to bring others to Jesus. Use us as Your instruments to share the good news of the Gospel. Whether through words or actions, may our lives point others to Christ. Help us to be bold in our witness, and give us the compassion and courage to speak of Your love to those who need it most.
As we rest tonight, we entrust the lost into Your hands, knowing that You are the Good Shepherd who seeks out the lost sheep. We pray that many would come to know Christ as their Savior, and that Your kingdom would grow. Thank You, Lord, for the privilege of being part of Your mission. Amen.
