Spurgeon's Prayer: Gratitude for God’s Provision
And my God will supply all your needs according to His glorious riches in Christ Jesus.
— Philippians 4:19 (BSB)
Gratitude is a flower that blooms in the garden of grace.
— Charles Spurgeon
Father, as we come to the close of this day, we want to thank You for Your abundant provision. Throughout the day, You have been faithful in meeting our needs, both great and small. We are grateful for the food we ate, the shelter over our heads, and the love of friends and family. But more than these, we are thankful for Your constant presence, guiding and protecting us in all things.
Lord, we confess that at times we overlook the many ways You care for us. But tonight, we pause to acknowledge every blessing You have given us. From the simplest acts of kindness to the greatest moments of provision, we know that all good things come from You. Help us to always have hearts that are full of gratitude, recognizing that everything we have is a gift from Your hand.
As we prepare for rest, we trust in Your promise that You will meet all our needs according to the riches of Your glory in Christ Jesus. We do not worry about tomorrow, because we know that just as You have been faithful today, You will be faithful again. Let us sleep in peace, assured of Your care and provision for the days to come.
Lord, thank You for being our Provider, our Sustainer, and our Faithful Father. We rest tonight in the knowledge that You are always with us, and we wake tomorrow with hearts full of gratitude for all You have done and all You will do. Amen.
