Spurgeon's Prayer: Healing and Joy in Christ
Heal me, O LORD, and I will be healed; save me, and I will be saved, for You are my praise.
— Jeremiah 17:14 (BSB)
The miracle of grace is as great as the miracle of healing.
— Charles Spurgeon
O Lord, we come before You today, like the lame man at the Beautiful Gate, seeking Your healing touch. Just as You healed him and made him whole, we ask You to heal us—physically, spiritually, and emotionally. Lord, we know You can still do today what You did in the past through Your servants. Work miracles of mercy for those who feel like they are in the outer courts, unable to enter fully into Your presence.
For those of us who have experienced Your healing, we rejoice, like the healed man, leaping and praising You. You are our Restorer and the Prince of Life. Lord, as You have ascended to the highest temple, we desire to follow You more closely, step by step. Draw us nearer and nearer to Your throne, bringing us into deeper communion with You.
Father, we know that even though we have been healed, we still need more of Your strength. We are prone to becoming dull and sluggish, so we ask for another touch from You today. May a vision of Your face brighten our spirits, and may Your Spirit's touch make us vigorous in our faith. Let our hearts leap with joy and our tongues sing praises to You because of the great things You have done.
As we go through this day, help us to put on Christ and live as those who are alive from the dead. Quicken any part of us that is still lifeless, and may we feel the fullness of the life You have given us. Let us walk in the joy of knowing that You are our healer, our strength, and our Savior. Amen.
