Spurgeon's Prayer: Interceding for Others
First of all, then, I urge that petitions, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgiving be offered for everyone—
— 1 Timothy 2:1 (BSB)
No man can do me a truer kindness in this world than to pray for me.
— Charles Spurgeon
Lord, tonight we come before You, not only with our own needs but with the needs of others on our hearts. You are the Great Intercessor, and we thank You for the privilege of joining in prayer for those we love. We lift up the burdens of our friends, family, and neighbors, asking that You would meet each one according to their needs.
We pray for those who are suffering, whether in body or in spirit. Lord, grant them strength and peace in their trials. For those who are facing illness, we ask for healing and restoration. For those struggling with discouragement or despair, we pray for hope and comfort. May Your presence be with them in a powerful way, reminding them that You are near.
Father, we also lift up the unconverted before You. We ask that You would soften their hearts and open their eyes to the truth of the Gospel. Bring them to salvation, Lord. For those who are seeking but have not yet found the way, guide them to Christ, who is the Way, the Truth, and the Life. We pray for a great harvest of souls, that many would come to know You as Savior.
As we rest tonight, we leave these requests in Your hands, knowing that You hear our prayers and that You are faithful to answer. We trust You to work in the lives of those we have lifted before You, bringing them healing, hope, and salvation. Thank You for the privilege of interceding for others. Amen.
