Spurgeon's Prayer: Reflecting Christ in All We Do
Whoever claims to abide in Him must walk as Jesus walked.
— 1 John 2:6 (BSB)
If you cannot speak as eloquently as an angel, yet speak as plainly as a saint.
— Charles Spurgeon
Father, as we come before You tonight, we ask for Your help to live as Christ did. We long to reflect His humility, love, and service in all we do. Help us to walk in the footsteps of Jesus, not seeking our own glory but the glory of God. May our actions, words, and attitudes be shaped by the life of Christ, and may we live in a way that brings honor to Your name.
Lord, give us the zeal and passion to do good works, just as Christ “went about doing good.” May we be filled with sacred warmth and a desire to seek the good of others and the glory of God in all things. Let our lips be touched with the fire of Your Spirit, and may we be living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to You.
Father, we ask that You would help us to be fully dedicated to You. Let every part of our lives be offered to You as a living sacrifice. Whether in times of sorrow or in moments of service, may we live like Christ, with patience, love, and obedience to Your will. Help us to be a light to those around us, reflecting the love of Christ in all that we do.
As we rest tonight, we ask that You would renew our strength and fill us with fresh zeal to live for You. May we rise tomorrow ready to serve, ready to love, and ready to live in the likeness of Christ. Thank You for the example of Jesus, and help us to follow Him faithfully. Amen.
