Spurgeon's Prayer: Offering Praise and Worship

Let everything that has breath praise the LORD! Hallelujah!
— Psalm 150:6 (BSB)

Praise is the rent which God requires for the use of His mercies.
— Charles Spurgeon

Father, we come before You today with hearts overflowing with praise. "Let everything that has breath praise the Lord." You are worthy of all honor and glory, and we offer You our wholehearted worship. As we stand in awe of Your goodness, we give You the praise of our entire being.

You are the Creator of the world, the Redeemer of humanity. To You, O Jehovah, be all glory forever and ever. Let all Your people lift their voices in praise to You. Let the redeemed of the Lord say so—those whom You have redeemed from the hand of the enemy. We stand today as those who have been delivered from sin, and we offer You the praise and thanksgiving that is due to Your name.

Father, Your works praise You, but it is Your saints who bless You. This is the song that will fill our hearts for all eternity, and today we begin that song. May the incense of our praise rise before You like a sweet aroma, fully accepted in Christ. May it fill the place where we stand, even if it is not visible to all, for we know that You delight in the praises of Your people.

We praise You, O Lord, not only for what You have done, but for who You are. You are the great and ever-blessed God, and we magnify Your name. May our praise today bring You glory, and may our hearts be filled with joy as we lift our voices to You.

Blessed be the name of the Lord, from this time forth and forevermore. Amen.
