Spurgeon's Prayer: Trusting in God's Promises
For all the promises of God are “Yes” in Christ. And so through Him, our “Amen” is spoken to the glory of God.
— 2 Corinthians 1:20 (BSB)
God is too wise to err, and too good to be unkind; trust Him, and you will not be afraid.
— Charles Spurgeon
Lord, we come before You with hearts full of faith, trusting in the certainty of Your promises. You have made many promises, and we know that each one is “Yes” in Christ. Our faith embraces these promises, not as distant hopes but as realities that are already ours in Christ Jesus. How faithful You are to Your Word!
As we stand upon Your promises, we are reminded that Your covenant is sure and unbreakable. You have promised to redeem us, to call us Your own, and to give us eternal life. What a comfort it is to know that these promises are secure, not because of anything we have done, but because of Your grace and faithfulness.
Lord, our hearts are filled with praise as we reflect on all that You have done for us and all that You have yet to do. We praise You not only for the blessings we have received but also for the promises we have not yet seen fulfilled, knowing that in Your perfect timing, every word will come to pass.
We offer You our praises today as an expression of our faith in Your goodness. We know that You are a God who keeps His promises, and we trust in Your unfailing love. Let our lives be a testimony to Your faithfulness, and let our hearts overflow with gratitude for all that You have done.
Blessed be Your name, Lord, for You are a faithful God, and Your promises are sure. We give You all the glory, honor, and praise, now and forever. Amen.
