Spurgeon's Prayer: A Life Reflecting Christ’s Love
In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.
— Matthew 5:16 (BSB)
Your one business in life is to lead men to believe in Jesus Christ by the power of the Holy Spirit.
— Charles Spurgeon
Gracious Lord, as we come before You tonight, we pray for the strength and grace to live lives that reflect the love and character of Christ. We desire to be lights in this world, shining brightly for Your glory. Let our words, our actions, and our very lives be a testimony to the transforming power of Your grace.
Father, help us to live in a way that brings honor to Your name. Whatever role we find ourselves in—whether as businesspeople, workers, parents, or children—may we adorn the doctrine of Christ by the way we live. We ask that our lives would be a reflection of Your love, truth, and holiness, so that others may see and be drawn to You.
We know that we are not perfect, and we often fall short of the standard You have set for us. But tonight, we pray for the grace to grow more like Christ each day. Help us to be watchful over our hearts and minds, to avoid sin, and to live in a way that is pleasing to You. Let us not be swayed by the influence of the world, but instead be transformed by Your Word and Spirit.
Lord, we ask that You use us to lead others to Christ. Let our lives be a witness to the Gospel, and may others see the light of Christ shining through us. We pray that You would give us opportunities to share the love of Jesus with those around us and that our actions would glorify You in all things.
As we prepare to rest tonight, we commit ourselves to Your care, asking that You continue to mold us into the image of Christ. Let Your light shine through us, that we may bring glory to Your name. Amen.
