Spurgeon's Prayer: Longing for Christ’s Return

He who testifies to these things says, “Yes, I am coming soon.” Amen. Come, Lord Jesus!
— Revelation 22:20 (BSB)

O beloved, may the Lord soon come! He is coming; He is on the way.
— Charles Spurgeon

Our Father, as the day draws to a close, our hearts are filled with a deep longing for the return of our Savior, Jesus Christ. We echo the words of Scripture: "Come, Lord Jesus!" We long to see You face to face, and we pray that You would return soon to make all things new. In the meantime, we ask that You would help us to live with vigilance and readiness, always prepared to meet You.

Lord, we recognize that this world is not our home. There are many trials and difficulties that we face, but we look forward with hope to the day when You will return to wipe away every tear and bring an end to all suffering. Help us to keep our eyes fixed on eternity, living not for this world but for the world to come.

As we wait for Your return, give us hearts that are eager to do Your will. May we be diligent in serving You and faithful in spreading the message of Your kingdom. We long for the day when Your will is done on earth as it is in heaven, and we pray that You would give us the grace to be a part of bringing that about. Let our lives be a reflection of Your love and truth, pointing others to the hope that we have in Christ.

Tonight, we ask for the strength to persevere through the challenges of this life. Keep us vigilant and ready, always longing for the day when we will see You face to face. Until that day comes, help us to live for Your glory and to honor You in all that we do. Amen.
