Spurgeon's Prayer: Surrender to God’s Will

Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight.
— Proverbs 3:5-6 (BSB)

If we give God service, it must be because He gives us grace. We work for Him because He works in us.
— Charles Spurgeon

Our Father, we come to You today with hearts that long to be fully surrendered to Your will. We confess that we often try to hold on to our own ways, but today, we ask for the grace to trust You completely. May there be no area of our lives where we hold back from You. Take control of our thoughts, our desires, our actions, and our hearts. Help us to lean not on our own understanding but to trust in Your wisdom and guidance.

We acknowledge that without Your grace, we can do nothing. It is only by Your Spirit that we are able to live for You and to serve You. We thank You for the righteousness of Christ, which covers us and allows us to approach You with boldness. Help us to walk in this grace each day, relying not on our own strength but on Your power at work in us.

Lord, we ask that You would reign over every part of our lives. May our actions, words, and even our thoughts be brought under Your control. We desire to live in a way that honors You, showing the world that You are truly our Lord. Help us to surrender fully, not just in part, but in every area of life.

As we go about our day, remind us constantly of Your presence and Your will. May we live with the knowledge that we belong to You and that our purpose is to glorify You. Help us to trust You, even when we do not understand Your ways, and to rest in the assurance that You are guiding us. Amen.
