Spurgeon's Prayer: A Heart for God's Kingdom
But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be added unto you.
— Matthew 6:33 (BSB)
We must preach Christ because it is through the foolishness of preaching that men are saved.
— Charles Spurgeon
Father, we come before You with a heart that desires to seek Your kingdom above all else. Let our lives be consumed with the mission of spreading Your name and glorifying You in all we do. We know that in seeking Your kingdom, everything else will fall into place, for You have promised to provide for our needs and guide us through every trial.
Lord, we ask for Your forgiveness for the sins we have committed, for the times we have strayed from Your path. Sanctify us, Father, and make us more like Christ. Teach us Your ways and help us grow in faith, that we may be perfected in You. As we walk through difficulties and face challenges, may we always trust in Your provision and guidance.
Father, we also pray for Your Church, that it would remain focused on the work of proclaiming the gospel. Let Your people be bold in preaching Christ, for it is through the power of the gospel that men are saved. May the message of the Cross continue to reach those who are lost and bring them into the light of salvation.
Guide us, Lord, as we seek to follow You in all things. Help us to live with our eyes fixed on eternity, knowing that our deepest desire is for the spread of Your kingdom. Let our hearts be set on You, and may we always be ready to share the story of the Cross with others. Amen.
