Spurgeon's Prayer: Glorifying Christ in All Things
Father, glorify Your name!” Then a voice came from heaven: “I have glorified it, and I will glorify it again.”
— John 12:28 (BSB)
It is the chief end of man to glorify God and enjoy Him forever.
— Charles Spurgeon
Father, our prayer tonight is that You would glorify Your Son, Jesus Christ, in all things. Just as Christ prayed, "Father, glorify Your name," so we echo that prayer. May everything we do, everything we say, and everything we strive for be to the glory of Your name. Let Christ be lifted high in our lives, in our churches, and throughout the world.
Lord, we long to see the advancement of the Gospel and the salvation of souls. We pray that many would come to know Jesus as their Savior, that hearts would be transformed, and that lives would be changed. May Christ see the fruit of His suffering and be satisfied, as more and more people turn to Him in faith.
We ask that You would help us live each day for the glory of Christ. Whether in the smallest acts of kindness or the greatest steps of faith, let our lives be a testimony of Your grace. Help us to put aside selfish ambitions and seek only the honor of Your name. Let Your Spirit guide us, so that everything we do is for Your glory.
As we rest tonight, we commit our hearts to You, asking that You continue to work in us for Your purposes. May our lives bring You glory, and may we find joy in knowing that we are living for something far greater than ourselves. Glorify Your Son, O Father, so that the Son may glorify You.
