Spurgeon's Prayer: Trusting in God's Faithfulness

Because of the loving devotion of the LORD we are not consumed, for His mercies never fail. They are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness!
— Lamentations 3:22-23 (BSB)

God’s mercy is so great that you may sooner drain the sea of its water or deprive the sun of its light than diminish the great mercy of God.
— Charles Spurgeon

Heavenly Father, as we come to the close of this day, we are reminded of Your great faithfulness. Your steadfast love has never failed us, and Your mercies are new every morning. Lord, we rest tonight in the knowledge that You will never leave or forsake us. Your love is unchanging and constant, even when we falter.

We thank You, Lord, for the many ways You have carried us through this day. Your mercies have sustained us, and we are grateful for the grace that has brought us through every challenge. No matter what we face, we know that Your faithfulness will carry us through. You are our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.

Lord, as we prepare to rest, we surrender all our concerns to You. We trust in Your steadfast love to protect us through the night and to give us peace. You are the same yesterday, today, and forever, and we know that Your love will surround us as we sleep. We thank You that Your mercies will be new again tomorrow, just as they have been today.

Father, we praise You for Your faithfulness that never wavers. Keep us close to You, and help us rest in the assurance that Your love will never let us go. No matter what trials we face, we know that Your faithfulness is greater than all our fears.
