Spurgeon's Prayer: Offering Our Love and Worship
Whom have I in heaven but You? And on earth I desire no one besides You.
— Psalm 73:25 (BSB)
Love to Christ smooths the road of duty and quickens the feet to run in His ways.
— Charles Spurgeon
O Lord Jesus, we come before You this morning to offer our love and worship. There is nothing on earth we desire more than You. For the love of Your name, we long to live and die. You are very dear to us, and we offer You our hearts in full surrender. Lord, take our hearts and unite them with Yours, that we may live for You alone.
We confess that our love is often weak, but we desire to love You more. If we think we love You more than we do, we pray that You would increase our love beyond what we imagine. Draw us closer to You, Lord, and let our hearts burn with devotion for You. There is no one in heaven or on earth like You, and we long to know You more.
Jesus, we worship You with all our being. We bow before Your glorious throne, offering these praises in Your name. You are worthy of all our love, all our worship, and all our lives. Help us live each day in full surrender to You, trusting You with every part of our hearts.
Father, unite our hearts with Yours today. Let nothing take Your place in our lives. We long to love You more deeply and live in constant worship. Take all that we are and all that we have, and use it for Your glory. We worship You, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, with all our being.
