Today’s Quote

Whatever is your best time in the day, give that to communion with God.

Spurgeon’s Daily Help

"The Lord is my light and my salvation." Here is a personal declaration: "my light," "my salvation;" the soul is confident and boldly proclaims it. When someone is born again, God’s divine light floods their soul, signaling the beginning of salvation. If you don’t have enough light to see your own darkness

and feel a deep need for Jesus, there’s no sign of salvation. After conversion, God becomes our joy, comfort, guide, teacher—in every way, he is our light: light within us, light around us, light shining through us, and light that will be revealed to us. Whoever has faith in God holds all the blessings of his covenant.

A petty ruler of a small tribe might arrogantly step outside every morning, greet the sun, and point out the path he wants it to take for the day. Is this arrogance any more ridiculous than ours when we try to dictate God’s plans for us, questioning the

wisdom of his actions in our lives?
