Spurgeon’s Daily Help
God's deep love for His servants makes Him care about their inner feelings. He wants them to be courageous. Some might think it's not a big deal for a believer to struggle with doubts and fears, but God doesn't see it that way. Our Master doesn’t take our unbelief lightly. He doesn't like to see us sad.
In the court of King Ahasuerus, no one was allowed to come in mourning clothes. This isn’t the law of the King of Kings—we can come to Him as we are, even in mourning. But still, He would prefer us to take off our sadness and put on the garment of praise because there is much to rejoice about.

Plants that are confined in small pots become weak and stunted, and the same thing happens to people whose hearts are tied down by their wealth. Just as a traveler struggles to move when his feet are stuck in the mud, so do people find it hard to progress
spiritually when they are weighed down by their riches. Blessed is the person who possesses wealth but isn’t possessed by it, who uses it wisely and seasons it with God’s Word and prayer.
