Faith that depends only on joy is weak, but faith that clings to Christ in the dark is strong.

Spurgeon’s Daily Help
We live best when we live simply on the Lord Jesus as He is, not relying on our feelings or experiences. Faith is most likely to grow strong in times that seem to challenge it. When faith is freed from depending on joys, experiences, feelings, and the like, it rises closer to Heaven. Trust in your Redeemer’s
strength, even if you’re feeling lost in the dark. Exercise the faith you have, and soon He will rise upon you with healing in His wings. Move from faith to faith, and you will receive blessing upon blessing.

Every time we discover a new title for our Redeemer, we should claim it as our own. The shepherd’s staff, the captain’s sword, the priest’s mitre, the prince’s scepter, the prophet’s mantle—they are all ours because Christ is ours. Jesus holds no dignity
that He will not use for our exaltation and no authority that He will not exercise for our protection. His divine fullness and perfect humanity are our inexhaustible treasure.
