He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To the one who overcomes, I will give the hidden manna. I will also give him a white stone inscribed with a new name, known only to the one who receives it. — Rev 2:17 BSB
A precious secret of the Christian life is having Jesus dwell in our hearts, conquering things we could never overcome on our own. This is the only secret to power in life, beloved. People may not understand it, but God will come to live in us, becoming the power, purity, victory, and joy of our lives.
It’s no longer about what I can do, but about what Christ can do. With Paul, we can say, "I know how to be brought low, and I know how to abound. I have learned the secret of facing plenty and hunger, abundance and need. I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me."
With this knowledge, we can face our trials. This secret keeps us pure and sweet, something we could never do on our own. Christ has met the adversary and defeated him on our behalf. Thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
