Today’s Quote

The Christian life is a battleground, not a playground. But the victory belongs to the Spirit.

Spurgeon’s Daily Help

God's Holy Spirit and human sin cannot coexist peacefully; they may both be present in the same heart, but they cannot both rule there, nor can they both remain silent. For "the Spirit desires what is contrary to the flesh, and the flesh what is contrary to the Spirit." There will be constant conflict

in the soul, so that the Christian will cry out, "O wretched man that I am! Who will deliver me from this body of death?" But in time, the Spirit will drive out all sin and will present us blameless before the throne of God with great joy.

The Spurgeon Birthday Book

Give me that harp, and let my fingers never leave its strings—the harp whose chords resound with the love of Christ alone. To dwell on the name of Jesus is a blessed monotony, more varied than all other subjects combined. When Jesus is the first, the

middle, the last—yes, all in all—then we fully fulfill our ministry. Lord, tune our hearts to this music!
