Today’s Quote

Most Christians would be better pleased, if the Lord did not inquire into their personal affairs too closely. They want Him to save them, keep them happy and take them to Heaven at last but not to be too inquisitive about their desires or daily conduct.

— A.W. Tozer

Spurgeon’s Daily Help

Christ is the vehicle that carries souls to Heaven. God’s people are on their way to Heaven, held in the everlasting arms, and those arms are the arms of Christ. Christ is carrying them up to His own house, to His own throne; soon His prayer, "Father, I want those you have given me to be with me where

I am," will be completely fulfilled. The cross is the great covenant vehicle that will weather the storms and reach its destination in Heaven. This is the chariot, its pillars made of gold; it’s lined with the purple of Christ’s atonement.

The Spurgeon Birthday Book

February 13

When our glorious Lord entered our souls, wearing His robe dipped in blood, pardoning and blessing us with His abundant grace, the bells of our hearts rang out in joy; the banners of our happiness waved in the fragrant air; the streets of our souls were

strewn with roses of delight; the fountains of our love flowed with red wine, and our souls were as full of bliss as they could be this side of Heaven; for salvation had come to our house, and the King of Mercy had honored us with His visit.

Did you ever notice how the Bible ends? It closes with that happiest of conclusions, marriage and happiness.
