What? Is Christ your Brother, and does He live in your house, yet you haven’t spoken to Him for a month? I fear there is little love between you and your Brother if you haven’t had any conversation with Him for so long. What? Is Christ the Husband of His Church, and has she had no fellowship with Him

for all this time?

Prayer is the natural response to the sense of need that arises from the new life within us; a person wouldn’t pray to God if they didn’t feel they had an urgent need for blessings that only the Lord can give.

Prayer is the Holy Spirit’s signature on the renewed heart.

The Spaniards in Chile believed that no water was as wholesome or as delicious as that which flowed through veins of gold. In the same way, no conversation is as edifying to the listeners as that which comes from a heart filled with sacred knowledge,

sanctified experience, devout contemplation, communion with Jesus, and other precious things. Lord, fill us with such treasures so that our conversations may be heavenly.
