Oh, it’s a blessed way to ease sorrow when we can say, "I will wait only on God." Oh, you anxious Christians, don’t dishonor your faith by always wearing a worried expression; come, cast your burden on the Lord. I see you struggling under a weight that He would not even feel. What seems like a crushing

burden to you would be as light as dust on a scale to Him. See! The Almighty bends His shoulders and says, "Here, put your troubles here."

"Come to Me, and I will give you rest."

A person might stand at the stake and endure the flames for a few minutes, but when it comes to being roasted for hours over a slow fire, who can bear it? It’s one thing to do a single brave and generous act, but to stand watch day and night, always on

guard lest the enemy attack or our own hearts betray us, praying constantly to stay in God’s love—that is the real challenge, and only grace can help us do it. Help us, O Holy Spirit!
