But someone will say, “You have faith and I have deeds.” Show me your faith without deeds, and I will show you my faith by my deeds. — Jas 2:18 BSB

It’s not enough to have an intellectual faith. Some people believe all the teachings of the Bible but are no better for it.

The only faith that matters is one that leads to obedience. We must show our faith through our actions. It’s easy to seem sympathetic when we see someone in need, but if we do nothing to help, our sympathy is just an empty gesture.

Abraham is the great example of faith. When he believed in the true God, he left his home and country, following God’s call without question. When God gave him the promised son, and then commanded him to offer that son as a sacrifice, Abraham didn’t hesitate. He trusted God completely and obeyed.

If we truly believe in God, we must surrender our lives to Him fully.
