When we come under the leadership of Christ, He has the power to free us from our old sinful nature.

“The law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has set me free from the law of sin and death.” When we find a sin trying to take control of us, we should turn it over to Christ. He’s stronger than any evil force. He faced and defeated all powers. He can overcome them for us too. He is a proven Savior, and God’s Spirit lives in us.

“If anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, they do not belong to Christ.” But if Christ is in us, we never have to give in to any evil influence.

There’s a simple rule that makes it clear whether we’re living the right way or not: “Those who are led by the Spirit of God are the children of God.” And this leads us into a chain of amazing privileges: “We are children of God, and if we are children, then we are heirs—heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ.”
