April 28

Then Jesus took the loaves and the fish, gave thanks, and distributed to those who were seated as much as they wanted. — John 6:11 BSB

We should always pray that Christ’s touch will be upon us and everything we do.

It’s worth thinking about the responsibility the disciples had that day when Jesus fed the crowd. If they had kept the food Jesus gave them just for themselves, the hungry thousands would have gone unfed.

In the same way, it’s just as important that we pass on the blessings of the gospel that Christ has given to us. If we only take the grace and comfort for our own lives, without sharing it with others, we’ve let Christ down and failed in our duty as His helpers and co-workers.

If the disciples had tried to feed the people with what they had before bringing it to Jesus, it wouldn’t have gone very far. We must bring our small resources to Christ and place them in His hands. Once we do that, no one can imagine the good that might be accomplished.
