Furthermore, the Father judges no one, but has assigned all judgment to the Son, — John 5:22 BSB
It’s a comforting thought, as we consider the Judgment Day, to know that the Judge will be the same Jesus who died for us, who still shares our humanity. We don’t need to fear Him, for He died out of love for us.
If we are His friends now, confessing Him before others, He will be our Friend on that day and will acknowledge us before His Father and the angels.
But we should also remember that this Judge identifies Himself with the least of His people. He will say, “I was hungry, and you gave Me food; I was thirsty, and you gave Me drink; I was sick, and you visited Me,” or, “I was hungry, and you didn’t give Me food; I was sick, and you didn’t visit Me.”
We need to be mindful of how we treat the lowliest of our fellow humans.
“Hush, I pray you!
What if this friend should happen to be – God?”
