Because the Lord GOD helps Me, I have not been disgraced; therefore I have set My face like flint, and I know that I will not be put to shame. — Isa 50:7 BSB
This is the language of faith and victory. In the book of Hebrews, we are told that in His final agony, Jesus endured the cross and despised the shame because of the joy set before Him. His life was a life of faith, His death a victory of faith, His resurrection a triumph of faith, and His reign is a continuous victory of faith, "from henceforth expecting till His enemies are made His footstool."
For us, He has become the model of faith. In every trial, temptation, and hardship, He has gone ahead of us, raising the banner of trust and triumph, and calling us to follow in His steps. He is the perfect example of faith. While we claim our salvation by faith, Jesus claimed the salvation of the world through His faith.
Let us look to this glorious Leader as our perfect example, and as we follow Him, let us remember that we can triumph where He has already triumphed.
