Behold, I am the LORD, the God of all flesh. Is anything too difficult for Me? — Jer 32:27 BSB
Cyrus, the king of Persia, was compelled to fulfill Jeremiah’s prophecy by issuing a decree at the exact time foretold, proclaiming that the Lord had commanded him to rebuild Jerusalem and send the captives back to their homeland. Jeremiah’s faith was vindicated, and God’s prophecy was gloriously fulfilled, as faith will always be honored.
Oh, for the faith that, in the face of a dark present or future, will dare to seal up its promises for a time of waiting and then boldly testify like the prophet of Anathoth to the certainty of its hope!
The name Anathoth means "echoes." Faith is the echo of God, and God always answers the echo of faith with His own glorious fulfillment. Let our faith echo the bold claim of the ancient prophet as we lay hold of our full inheritance with his triumphant declaration: "Oh, Lord, You are the God of all flesh. Is there anything too hard for You?" And back, like an echo, will come God’s resounding answer: "I am the God of all flesh. Is there anything too hard for Me?"
