For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who was tempted in every way that we are, yet was without sin. — Heb 4:15 BSB
Some of us have felt a small taste of the suffering of others, and sometimes even their sins, as they overwhelm us with a deep sense of sorrow or wrongdoing. This may give us a faint glimpse of the kind of sympathy Jesus felt when He bore our sins, sicknesses, and sorrows. Let us not hesitate to lay our burdens on Him! It is easier for Him to carry them away from us than to carry them with us. He has already borne them for us in both His life and death. Let us cast our burdens on Him and watch them roll away, and then, strengthened by His power and rested in His love, we can go forth to minister to others with the same compassion He has shown us.
The world is full of sorrow, and those who have known its bitterness and its healing are God's ministers of comfort to a grieving world.
O, the tears that flow around us,
Let us wipe them while we may;
Bring the broken hearts to Jesus,
He will wipe their tears away.
