Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or distress or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? — Rom 8:35 BSB
And then comes the triumphant answer after listing all possible obstacles and enemies, "No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us." Our trials will turn into stepping stones; our enemies will be captured and made to fight on our side. Like the weights on a clock, which keep it running, our difficulties will serve as incentives to deeper faith and prayer, becoming opportunities for God to show Himself real to us.
Not only will we find deliverance from our troubles, but we will also find triumph in them, becoming more than conquerors through Him who loved us.
Our security does not depend on our own unchanging love but on God's love for us in Christ Jesus. It’s not the child’s grip on the mother that keeps them from falling but the mother’s strong arms, which will never let go. God has loved us with an everlasting love, and though everything else may change, He will never leave or forsake us.
