No discipline seems enjoyable at the time, but painful. Later on, however, it yields a harvest of righteousness and peace to those who have been trained by it. — Heb 12:11 BSB
God seems to love working through paradoxes and contrasts. In His transforming grace, bitterness is the root of sweetness, night gives birth to day, and death leads to life.
Many people seek power, but how is power produced? Recently, we passed a facility where trolley engines are powered by electricity. We heard the constant hum and roar of countless wheels and asked our guide, “How is power made?” He replied, “Just by the rotation of those wheels and the friction they generate. The rubbing creates the electric current.”
It’s quite simple, and a small experiment could prove it to anyone.
In the same way, when God wants to bring more power into your life, He allows more pressure. He generates spiritual energy through the friction of difficulties. Some of us don’t like it. Some of us don’t understand it, and we try to escape the pressure instead of using it to gain strength and rise above the challenges.
