When I am afraid, I put my trust in You. — Ps 56:3 BSB

We will never forget something George Müller once said when asked the best way to develop strong faith. His reply was, “The only way to learn strong faith is to endure great trials. I have learned my faith by standing firm amid severe testings.” This is absolutely true. The time to trust God is when everything else fails. If you’re going through great afflictions, you are in the very soul of faith-building circumstances. If you will only let go and trust God, He will teach you, in these hours of trial, how to have the strongest grip on His throne that you can ever know. Do not fear—only believe. And if you are afraid, look up and say, “Whenever I am afraid, I will trust in You.” You will soon find yourself thanking God for this school of sorrow, which turns out to be the school of faith.

O brother, heed the warning,
Obey His voice today.
The Spirit to you is calling,
Do not turn Him away.
