He remembers His covenant forever, the word He ordained for a thousand generations— — Ps 105:8 BSB
As long as you struggle under the law—by your own effort—sin will have dominion over you. But the moment you step out from under the shadow of Sinai and throw yourself on the simple grace of Christ, embracing His free and absolute gift of righteousness, and trust Him to be what He promised—your righteousness of thought and feeling—the battle is practically over. Beloved, do you really know and believe that this is the very promise of the Gospel? It’s the essence of the new covenant: Christ pledges Himself to put His law in your heart, to cause you to walk in His statutes, and to keep His judgments and do them.
This is the oath He swore to Abraham, that He would grant us deliverance from the hands of our enemies and from all who hate us, so that we might serve Him without fear, in righteousness and holiness, all the days of our lives. He has sworn to do this for you, and He is faithful to His promise. Trust Him always.
